One like no other
The village of Schenna: at the foot of the mountains, above the roofs of Meran.
Those visiting Schenna have a wonderful outlook. Of the peaks, towards the valleys - but above all with lots of variety! At between 400 and 2,800 metres above sea level, nature shows off its wonders. Schenna also has plenty of culture to offer with its architectural triumvirate of castle, church and mausoleum. The proximity to the spa town of Meran adds to the list of possibilities. City flair, village idyll and mountain adventure: Schenna is a holiday destination that has a little bit of everything.
Our village is deeply rooted in South Tyrolean customs and old traditions. We Schenner celebrate this at the various festivals, parades, processions and church days.
Event highlights all year round
Easter concert, Old-timer car rally, autumn festival: the calendar of events in and around Schenna is never empty. In spring the motto is “Schenna blooms”. Warm summer evenings are made even more delightful with live music and evening shopping. In autumn, the Schenner Bauernkuchl cooks up the fresh harvest on your plate and in winter, the Meran Christmas market lights up the promenade and your eyes.
Verdins: Always worth another visit
The Fürstenhof is located in the sun-drenched hamlet of Verdins, three kilometres north of the main town. Between grass-green slopes and forests, peace and tranquillity characterise everyday life. The small town centre around the proud church tower invites you to take a break, while the cable car on the edge of the village provides quick access to the Hirzer hiking area. Our tip: the Verdins Waalweg, which leads from the village centre north to the Waaler Hütte.
